CUA HUMBLED BY BEING TOP-RATED GOVERNOR IN PH
Quirino governor Dax Cua on Monday said he is humbled to be the top-rated governor in the country in a survey by the RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc. (RPMD).
Cua had a rating of 91 percent, the highest among the Philippines' 81 governors, in its independent and non-commissioned Boses ng Bayan national performance evaluation survey of the country's "top performing officials" for 2022.
"We are humbled by the survey, and grateful for the recognition of our efforts. Hindi ito tagumpay ng sarili lamang, kundi sa buong team namin sa provincial government na walang-sawa at walang-pagod na kumikilos para maglingkod," Cua said.
The governor vowed to continue working hard for his constituents.
"Patuloy na madarama ng mga taga-Quirino ang Cua brand of service—nakikita, nakakausap, nahahawakan, naaasahan. We will work doubly hard as we strive to recover fully from the pandemic," Cua said.
Aside from better social services, the governor, who serves as president of the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines, is also positioning Quirino as a "tech hub."
Cua hopes to complete the construction of 400 wifi towers in the province before his term ends. He is also actively engaging tech companies to entice them to set up shop in the province.
The survey rated governors based on the scope of their work, which includes the implementation of programs, initiatives, laws, and development plans.
The Boses ng Bayan survey was conducted from November 27-December 2, 2022 across all local government units in the country.
Out of 65.75 million registered voters aged 18-70 years old, 10,000 respondents were chosen, with sampling margin of error at ±1 percent and 95 percent confidence level.
